Cloud will soon build from the southwest, followed by outbreaks of rain gradually spreading northwards, but with some eastern and northern parts possibly remaining dry at least until nightfall. The rain will be heavy at times with some spot flooding and thundery bursts possible, especially in southern parts. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with light to moderate southerly or variable winds.

Wednesday night will be wet for most with widespread rain, heavy at times with some spot flooding and thundery bursts possible, especially in southern and southeastern parts. The rain will clear southeastwards towards morning, becoming mostly confined to Leinster with clear spells and scattered showers following from the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees, coolest in the north, with light variable winds becoming northwesterly and strengthening through the night.

Thursday will see a wet start in the east and southeast as rain clears into the Irish Sea through the morning. It will be blustery with scattered showers pushing in from the Atlantic, most frequent in the northwest and west and becoming heavier in the afternoon with some hail possible. However, there will be some long sunny spells too. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, strong on western and northwestern coasts.
